I've been playing with the idea of a job-search services business for a little while now, and I think the time is right to get it going. I'm ready to hand my Montreal Cleaning Business off to someone else now; it's been fun, but I'm a little tired of scraping vomit of stranger's bathrooms. If this interests you - please contact me! So new business.
First things first. What comes first? You'd think I'd be good at this by now. After all, I've been the proud owner-operator of several businesses to date, many of which have even been moderately successful. I don't want to go so far as to say that business plans are for the birds, but I have a feeling that they lied to me in business school: you can live without one. Or at least without a big fancy one.
A plan of some kind, however, is essential. Make it a list.
1. Hammer out the idea.
Service, job-search collaterals, web-based
2. Choose a name and buy the domain.
Half the time this is the hardest part
3. Create Marketing Plan.
Unlike a business plan, I cannot live without one of these
Since Creating a Marketing Plan is a whole nother post, I'll save it for one, and go on to talk about dinner!
Dinner tonight will be a variation on the Classic Sunday meal: chicken legs roasted with honey and lemon, baked potatoes and asparagus. The napping Captain Boyfriend is lucking tonight.
